AKRON RACERS TO HOST USA NATIONAL TEAM

Bound 4 Beijing Tour Headed to Firestone Stadium July 22

Akron, OH--- The USA National Team will travel to Akron on July 22 to play the Akron Racers at Firestone Stadium at 7:00pm. General Manager, Joey Arriettta and Ohio ASA Commissioner, Warren Jones redirected the highly touted Bound 4 Beijing Tour from Xenia to Akron for the final stop in Ohio. Arrietta began lobbying Jones several months ago to bring the tour to Firestone Stadium, which has been a popular site for previous National Team events.

“I am very excited to bring the USA Team to Akron and especially happy for our team, the fans and the community,” noted Arrietta. There are currently four former Racers on the incredibly talented USA squad including Crystl Bustos, (1B) Jenny Topping (C), Kelly Kretchman (OF) and Alicia Hollowell (P).

Bustos began her career in the National Team program when she was a member of the Racers in 1999. She became the first player from a pro team to earn a spot on the 2000 Olympic team. Since then Bustos has grabbed two Olympic Gold Medals and is on track to earn her third medal in the 2008 games in Beijing. Topping and Kretchman earned gold medals in 2004. Bustos, Topping and Kretchman also helped guide the Akron Racers to the 2005 NPF Championship.

Gates will open at 4:30pm with first pitch scheduled for 7:00pm.

The USA National Team and the Akron Racers will be available for an autograph session following the completion of the game.

* This ticket is non-refundable and non-replaceable in the event it is lost, stolen or destroyed. This ticket is non-refundable should the event be cancelled due to inclement weather, however there will be an autograph session.

* Parking is limited and you will park at your own risk.

* All seating is General Admission, "saving of seats" will not be permitted.

* No food, beverages, pets, video cameras or lawn chairs inside the stadium. Lawn Chairs will be allowed in the grass beyond the outfield fence.

* Hand-held still cameras are allowed, but photographs taken on the premises may not be used for any commercial purpose without the express, prior, written consent of organizer.
