Racers Second Place Finish & Fourth Consecutive Playoff Appearance

Akron, OH --- The Racers finished the 2007 regular season with a 26-17 record and a second place finish earning Akron their fourth consecutive appearance in the NPF Playoffs. The Racers placed three players, Norrelle Dickson (3B), Veronica Wootson (2B) and Kristen Butler (At-Large) on the 2007 ALL-NPF Team. Wootson was named the NPF Offensive Player of the Year after a stellar performance at the plate delivering six game winning hits three of which were homeruns.

The 2007 team wishes to thank the fans that attended and supported the team throughout the season. The Racers experienced a 30% increase in their attendance and look forward to expanding their fan base for the 2008 season.

We finally finished our season in true Racer spirit with a near comeback victory in extra innings in the championship playoffs in Kimberley, WI, commented GM, Joey Arrietta. We have the nucleus of a talented rookie class of players that leave the prospects for the 2008 season on a very high note.”
