RACERS, JE CARSTEN CO PARTNER FOR SPECIAL SLUSHIE FLAVOR

AKRON, Ohio (May 30, 2012) – The Akron Racers are pleased to announce a charitable partnership with the JE Carsten Company, distributors of Slush Puppie, to bring a unique slushie flavor to Firestone Stadium during the Akron Racers first home stand of the season, June 7-10.
 
As part of the “Season of Caring,” the Racers will open the year with their first series by helping to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s Disease through the Alzheimer’s Association.
 
In conjunction with the Season of Caring for Alzheimer’s Awareness Series, proceeds from the special edition Polar Purple Shiver, grape flavored slushies will all benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.

About the Akron Racers: The Akron Racers, headquartered in Akron, OH, are the oldest existing team in the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) league. The Racers competed in the Women's Pro Softball League (WPSL) for two seasons in 1999 and 2000 and in the NPF since 2004.
