RACERS BEAT DENSO JAPAN IN 11 INNINGS

Akron , Ohio – Perseverance was the name of the game at Firestone
Stadium as the Akron Racers snapped a five-game losing streak with a 3-
2, 11-inning win over Denso Japan.

With one out, first baseman Oli Keohohou's groundball single past third
scored Amber Hall with the game winner in the bottom of the 11th.

Radara McHugh went the full eleven innings, striking out eleven, and not
allowing an earned run all night.

Denso starter Risa Uno was equally impressive going the distance with
five strikeouts and no earned runs.

Both teams scored runs in the first inning and were held scoreless all
the way to the tenth inning.  In the tenth inning , the international
tie-breaker rule was put into place, placing a runner on second to start
the inning.  Denso's runnner was able to score putting them ahead by
one going into the bottom of the tenth.

With Kristin Johnson on second Akron's own Tracee McCoy laced a triple
to left-field scoring Johnson, and knotting the score again at two.

McHugh and the Racers were able to hold Japan scoreless in the top of
the eleventh; setting the stage for Keohohou and the Racers in the
bottom half of the inning.

The Racers look to continue their winning ways tomorrow night when they
face off with Denso Japan yet again at 7:05.
