2012 Akron Racers: Led the league in appearances (24 games)...Only had 18 walks throughout the season…Pitched a total of 81 innings…Top ten for strikeouts, having 43 last year…Pitched a shut-out game.
2011 Arizona State: Went 10-0 in her junior year, notching a 2.79 ERA in her 16 appearances, which included eleven starts. She allowed only 69 hits and 27 runs in her 62.2 innings pitched. Her ten wins pull her career total up to 66, which boosts her to fifth place in the Sun Devil record book. Hillary also recorded 23 strikeouts, which now gives her 304 total in her tenure, placing her at 12th overall in program history.Hillary graduated after just three years from the nationally ranked W.P. Carey Business School at ASU. Following her graduation she began the W.P. Carey MBA program with an emphasis in international leadership with plans to complete her second degree in May of 2013. 2010 Arizona State Returns to the circle for her third collegiate season now as the tried and tested leader of the pitching staff after another successful season that saw her lead the Sun Devils to their fifth consecutive NCAA Super Regional appearance. Hillary took to the circle in 38 games, finishing with a 2.37 ERA and a 25-8 record to give her 56 career wins, placing her ninth already in career wins in ASU history. To add to her accolades Hillary was also awarded an All Pac-10 Team Honorable Mention as well as being named to the Pac-10 All-Academic First Team and the CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District VII First Team.
2009 Arizona State: After a freshman year for the history books in 2009 which saw her 31 wins in the season as not only good for third place all-time in ASU single-season history, but also the best record for a freshman in Sun Devil softball history as well. Her three starts in the circle in the 2009 WCWS were also notable for the Maroon & Gold as she is only the third ASU freshman to have started a WCWS game behind the 1999 tandem of Erica Beach and Kirsten (Voak) Malgradi. While seemingly at ease in the circle with a smile always on her face, Bach means business as some of her season highs in her first campaign included 10 strikeouts against Northwestern on Feb. 20 as well as a phenomenal 14 shutouts in the season. She looks to enter her sophomore year as an anchor to the pitching staff along with senior hurler Megan Elliott. After her rookie season Bach was named to the Freshman All Pac-10 First Team.
High School: Originally hailing from Tulsa, Okla., and a 2008 graduate of Holland Hall, Bach is a four-time letterwinner in both softball and volleyball. The captain of three teams throughout her high school career, she was named All-Conference in softball 2005-2008 and All-North Zone in softball 2005-2008 A member of the honor roll all four years, she was named softball MVP all four years and was named TGSF Player of the Year.
Personal: The business marketing major was born in Tulsa, Okla. to Dave and Kathy Bach of Tulsa, Okla. She has one younger sister Lindsey. Her full name is Hillary Nichole Bach. In addition Hillary was named 2011-12 President of ASU's Student Athlete Advisory Council. |
